The Martial Arts Experience
Early on we are exposed to many influences in life and many of them reach us through various mediums. The rapid acknowledgement of these influences are the result of the Internet and television etc. One of the most structured disciplines is the advancement and delivery of the Martial Arts. My influence came from watching Bruce Lee fill the big screen with unbelievable skills in Self Defense and the use of various weapons. The more I watched, the more I reach for. One of the things that intrigued me the most was in addition to the skills was the tenants of Martial Arts;
Integrity (being one of those tenants): Learning the differences of application of those developed skills. When to use those skills for good and not evil or destruction.
We live in such a fast paced world, racing through life in utter blindness, not knowing the true destination. For the most part, we live on the coat tails, hard work and discipline of others. We vision ourselves of having those valuable skills but fall way short of application, desire and effort of attaining the necessary levels needed to perform those skills. My intentions in writing these news letters are not directed to any other Martial Art discipline or any other instructors or trainers. We are criticized for turning the Eastern World philosophy into a business environment. I am merely putting my thoughts on paper and hoping that the industry will get back on track for the real reason of its existence! We need to keep the various skill levels strong and not just promote for business. Doing this will make future students work harder to attain the higher levels and appreciate the fruit of their labor.
